change what you eat,
change how you feel

Let’s get you and your loved ones on the path to wellbeing.

integrative nutrition

We’ve all heard it before, you are what you eat.

But, the truth is that one-size-fits-all diets don’t actually work for everyone.

And there are new studies coming out everyday pointing to gut-inflaming foods and nutritional deficiencies contributing to concentration problems, depression, memory decline, and chronic illnesses.

Wouldn’t it be great if instead of simply counting calories or focusing on “more vegetables”, we worked together to figure out exactly what your individual body needs and what will practically fit into your lifestyle?

This is what our Integrative Nutritionists do – we approach health from a whole-person perspective.

After working with us, we’ll know what’s going on at the root of your nutritional health.

You’ll have an individualized plan showing which foods to eliminate, which to eat more of, and which supplements will help you reach your health goals faster.

We cover everything from digestive concerns, food cravings, chronic illness, skin problems, hormone imbalances, brain health, or simply why making diet changes is hard.

Check out why Integrative Nutrition Services should be a vital part of your care with Stepping Stones Clinic.

Brenna Thompson, MS, RD, LDN
Registered Dietician
Integrative Nutritionist

Brenna Thompson is a registered and licensed dietitian, with a Master’s Degree in Applied Nutrition. She is originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa and completed her Undergraduate Degree at Minnesota State University, Mankato where she ran cross country and track for two years and then took up sprint triathlons for a few years.

After completing her Dietetic Internship at West Virginia University Hospital, she worked for Phoebe Sumter Memorial Hospital in Americas, Georgia. There she helped run the outpatient diabetes center and later developed the employee wellness dietitian position. Prior to working at OHW, she worked at Nutritional Weight and Wellness, where she helped clients learn that what they eat affects how they feel.

She is passionate about teaching people how foods interact with their body and getting to the root of their problems. She has experience working with people who struggle with autoimmune disease, digestive disorders, cardio-metabolic disease, infertility and women's hormones, food sensitivities, chronic pain, binge eating, and just about anything in between.

Brenna believes that no one eating style is right for every person: what works for some doesn't for others. She encourages clients to make changes they can stick with and that support their goals.

In her free time, you can find Brenna digging in her garden, and then coming up with creative ways to use the garden vegetables in her kitchen. She also loves camping with her husband, lifting weights, falling over in yoga, knitting, writing, chasing her child, and catching bigger fish than her husband.

Marcie Vaske, MS, LN
Licensed Nutritionist
Integrative Nutritionist

Marcie Vaske is a Licensed Nutritionist, with a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition. She grew up in Park Rapids, MN, a small, northern Minnesota town. Marcie completed her Undergraduate Degree at St. Cloud State University, where she studied Community Health and Athletic Training. She went on to work as a cardiac rehab therapist and physical therapy rehab therapist. She eventually returned to Minnesota to pursue her passion for nutrition. She completed her Master’s in Human Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport.

Prior to working at Stepping Stone Clinic, Marcie worked as a Nutritionist, teaching individuals that what they eat has a significant effect on how they feel. She is a firm believer in educating her patients to empower them to make dietary changes that can help them lead the life they desire.

Her own journey in nutrition has provided deep insight into the healing power of nutrition. Having struggled with anorexia, obsessive-compulsive exercising, and anxiety, all of which led to chronic and complex digestive issues. Relying on her life experience and deep knowledge of nutrition, Marcie encourages her clients to make dietary changes they are ready to tackle. For some, that is one change at a time; for others, it is everything at once. Every step makes a difference.

In her free time you will find Marcie watching her twins compete in their sports, spending time being creative in the kitchen, and decorating her home. She loves running, weight lifting, and spending days at the lake or winter evenings all snuggled in with her favorite people.
