change how you live,
change how you feel

Let’s get you and your loved ones on the path to wellbeing.

real life skills

The nerd term for “real life skills” is “executive functions”.

Executive functions are brain-based action skills that help us do things like plan, organize, make decisions, prioritize tasks, shift between situations, pace energy, control emotions, curb impulsivity, and learn from past mistakes. Whew!

You may have been told or even just notice that you struggle with these skills but may not know how to get help.

Come work with one of our Executive Function Coaches to learn important study & social skills used beyond the school experience. Get extra help from our Behavioral Health Coordinator with things like creating resumes, job hunting, and making (and keeping) health goals.

Pssst. Parents! We have special sessions for you too.

This is just another way Stepping Stone Clinic’s unique whole-person approach to mental health can take you from surviving to thriving at any age.

Rachelle Hansen, PhD, LP
Clinical Psychologist
Neurodevelopmental Specialist

Dr. Hansen received her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of North Dakota. There, she was actively involved in several rural health initiatives helping integrate in-home mental health services along with outpatient health and behavior services.

She completed both her doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota where she specialized in pediatric psychology, psychological and neuropsychological evaluations. Her work included providing evaluations, behavioral interventions, and therapy to children, adolescents, parents, and families who are coping with medical conditions and developmental disorders.

Dr. Hansen has worked with children to adults at four different hospital systems, five rural health clinics, an inpatient and residential center, three private practices, a school-based therapy program, a community mental health clinic, and a neurology practice.

Because of her unique background in biochemistry, education, and psychology, she envisioned a clinic that would house all three. One where patients can get the whole-person support they need under one roof with a more personalized approach than a larger healthcare setting could offer.

She does this work because she simply wants to help people feel and live better. She's proud to be a part of an environment where she (and the rest of the incredible team) can do just that.

Renee von Weiss, PhD, LP
Clinical Psychologist
Psychological Testing Specialist

Dr. von Weiss has a doctorate from the University of Kansas in clinical psychology with specialization in health psychology across the lifespan. She gained additional training in clinical child and pediatric psychology during her predoctoral internship at the University of Florida. From there, she completed a one-year, postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child and pediatric psychology at the University of Louisville.

As a staff psychologist at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota for 8 years, Dr. von Weiss conducted psychological evaluations of children and adolescents presenting with a variety of developmental concerns, such as learning disabilities, ADHD and autism. She also provided therapy and inpatient consultation services for children, adolescents and families struggling with medical conditions. During her time at Children's Hospital, Dr. von Weiss also supervised clinical psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows through her involvement with Children’s APA-accredited internship program.

Dr. von Weiss specializes in conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations for patients who present with a variety of developmental and learning concerns. She works with the patient, family, and other providers to try to find a plan to help patients move forward in their life. She's most passionate about treating anxiety, as well as adjustment to and coping with acute and chronic medical and neurodevelopmental conditions. Overall, Dr. von Weiss takes a developmental, strengths-based approach to her practice.
